Displacements in the *_BFLEX2010.raf file
Q: My model_bflex2010.raf file has other displacements than the corresponding model.raf file obtained directly from bflex2010?
A: The displacements at the first step of the _bflex2010.raf file will always be reported as zero, and further displacements measured relative to that step. If you apply all loads, such as pressure, tension, etc. after that first result step, you will see identical results for the two raf files. Stresses and forces are the same regardless of displacements reported differently.
Relation between <model>.raf and <model>_BFLEX2010.raf file
Q: I am confused about the two *.raf files. Which one is the new and the old format?
A: The <model>.raf file is produced directly from BFLEX2010 and is the new format. Results from this database file can be extracted by BFLEX2010POST.
To arrive at the old raf format, <model>_BFLEX2010.raf, postprocessing using BFLEX2010POST is required. The old raf format database can be further populated by BOUNDARY and PFLEX, and results can be extracted using BPOST. NOTE: The old format can only be obtained for a pipe defined by the FLEXCROSS modelling approach.
